Consistent designs on everything!
Nothing will make your wedding look better or more put together than consistency. The same way a rustic, shabby-chic chalkboard sign sets the wrong vibe for an elegant, upscale wedding, if you have place cards, orders of service, table numbers, signs, and a table plan that look like they could belong to wildly different weddings, it’s going to look odd.
The best little detail you can pay attention to is how everything meshes together – or doesn’t!

Since I was creating everything myself for my wedding, I could design it all to match and to match my invitations (and rather splendid wedding website). But you don’t have to make everything from scratch to have consistent designs.
At Gettin’ Hitched Rocks, we have the Magment range, a fun, funky website design and matching stationery set which matches the freebie downloads on the blog. You can download designs for A4 signs (perfect for labelling baskets of blankets, flip flops, or bathroom supplies), reserved seat tags (great for keeping the front rows at the ceremony free for the wedding party), and table numbers (exactly right for numbering tables) to match the Magment stationery and websites. Your whole wedding will be on theme and on point.
If you don’t want to use the incredible design we lovingly made, just for you (you monster), you can get a long way by using the same font in the same colour on all your signs. You don’t have to learn graphic design, you just have to resist the urge to work your way through Google Font’s entire free catalogue.
Whatever design you use (coughoursisbrilliantcough), print your signs on card rather than thin printer paper to make sure they look good (and they’ll last the night) and – viola! – you have a wedding with the attention to detail your guests will appreciate (and your future self will be grateful for, when the photos come back).
