Welcome to the first of a new segment on Gettin’ Hitched Rocks, Wednesday Wedspiration!
Once a week (on a Wednesday, in fact), I’ll be posting some of the most awesome, interesting, and inspiring wedding ideas I’ve found
to hide my dehabilitating Pinterest addiction to strike up your creativity and imagination. To kick things off – in no way related to the diet I’ve just started – cake!

Flowers are a fantastic, (reasonably) inexpensive way to carry colours and theme across your wedding; you can match bouquets and boutineers to centrepieces, ceremony decorations, and – yes – your cake by using the same flowers. And a little goes a long way.
Sprucing up naked wedding cakes
Naked wedding cakes – sponge cakes with a little or no icing – risk looking a little plain in your wedding pictures, but dotting fresh flowers between the layers adds instant Insta-worthy charm.
Using flowers as a cake topper
Or why not give fresh flowers pride of place as the topper on your wedding cake?
